Established in 1941, the resort has grown into a premier destination for both skiers and snowboarders. With a vertical drop of 1,665 feet (507 meters), a top elevation of 8,805 feet (2,684 meters), and a base elevation of 7,140 feet (2,180 meters), Bear Mountain offers a skiable area of 748 acres across 62 trails. These trails are designed to accommodate a range of skill levels, with 15% suited for beginners, another 15% for low intermediates, 40% for intermediates, and 30% for advanced skiers. Its longest run, Geronimo, stretches 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers), offering a thrilling descent. The resort features 12 lifts—including 3 quad chairlifts, 2 triple chairs, 4 double chairs, and 3 surface lifts—with a combined lift capacity of 16,590 skiers per hour. Bear Mountain receives about 100 inches (250 cm) of snowfall annually and offers 100% snowmaking coverage to ensure optimal conditions.
